Development/Curriculum

We are a dedicated early childhood development centre in Cape Town so we focus on holistic education while following the curriculum based on CAPS. We work according to the New All-In-One Manual which is put together according to the National Curriculum Framework (NCF).

Food Menu

We understand the importance of nutrition in the overall development and well-being of learners. That is why we
promote healthy eating at Geziggies by providing well-balanced and healthy meals to ensure that children receive the
necessary nutrients to support their growth, cognitive function, and overall health. We provide breakfast porridge at 08h00, brown bread sandwiches at 09h30 and lunch at 11h30/12:00 (Full and half day children).

Extra Curricular

Geziggies Pre-primary school in Cape Town aims to provide children with an educational experience that extends beyond the classroom, further emphasising our value of well-rounded child development. We are proud to offer a range of extra-curricular activities at an extra cost that give the children of Geziggies plenty of opportunities to develop their unique abilities and talents, and pursue their passions.

Geziggies strives to cultivate a strong sense of community by organizing various family-oriented occasions throughout the year, all aimed at bringing our school vision to life and enriching parents’ involvement. Parent-Teacher Afternoons
Twice a year, in March and September, we hold parent-teacher afternoons/evenings at our pre-primary school in Cape Town to foster meaningful communication and collaboration for learner success.

Christian Values

1. Geziggies Pre-Primary School follows Christian values and norms.
2. Geziggies teaches the children good values and to follow the right principles of empathy, sympathy and care for each other.
3. Christian values are implemented through daily readings and prayer during circle time, the singing of Bible songs, prayer before meals and on Fridays all the children attend an assembly where Bible stories are read and Bible songs are sung.
4. Geziggies also celebrates Christian days such as Easter and Christmas.
5. Children of all denominations are welcome and celebrated.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you assist with potty training? Should my child be potty-trained before joining Geziggies?

Yes, we do. Our staff provides gentle and consistent support throughout the potty training process. We work in partnership with parents to ensure a smooth and positive experience for each child.

Yes, all main meals are included. We provide:
•⁠ ⁠ A nutritious breakfast
•⁠ ⁠ A yummy mid-morning snack
•⁠ ⁠ A balanced lunch
We kindly request that parents pack a small afternoon snack/lunchbox for
their child to enjoy after nap/rest time. We also ask parents to send fruit to
school for the class fruit basket. They will enjoy these fruits throughout the
day.

Class sizes differ by age group:

  • 1 & 2 years: Up to 16 children
  • 2 to 3 years: Up to 25 children per class
  • 3-4 & 4-5: Up to 27 children per class.
  • Grade R: A maximum of 20 children

Staffing ratios are as follows:
For children aged 1-4 years:
Each class is staffed with one teacher and two classroom assistants.
For the 5-year-olds and our Grade R class:
Each class is staffed with 1 teacher and 1 classroom assistant.

We have one WhatsApp/phone line that you can ask on, where you will be assisted. Our staff are not allowed to have their personal cell phones in class (POPIA). We will go check up on your little one and let you know how he/she is doing, and send a photo.

School starts at 06:30, and depending on whether your child is enrolled half/full day, we close at 18:00. Half day until 14:30
